Queens Hotel Chester – Street Portraits

Posted on by Jason

This week we had a couple of hours over at The Queens Hotel in Chester to take some portraits in and around the hotel. Joe started inside with two of the girls and Stu and I arrived a little later and I took Steph outside for some street style portraits. I wanted to play a little more with subtle off camera flash that was quite close to ambient, just enough to make the model pop from the background. These are all taken without any form of flash modifier (mainly because I left the softbox bracket in the car and was too lazy to go back for it!), but for the most part it didn’t matter and the results are pretty good.

Then we had a little longer out the back of the hotel in the dark which gave me some time to try out a couple of other techniques and generally have a play prior to the wedding season really kicking off next month. Here’s a few favourites. Jase 🙂
